Why Customize Your Arcade1Up Cabinet?
Arcade1Up has become the standard for home arcade cabinets since its 2018 launch. With its 3/4 size and affordable price, it lets everyone relive the arcade magic. However, factory themes are limited. Customization lets you create a cabinet that reflects your style, whether displaying your favorite game, matching your decor, or simply standing out.
- Display your favorite retro game (Street Fighter, Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat...)
- Create an original multicade theme
- Replace damaged or faded graphics
- Match your game room decor
- Increase resale value
Customizable Elements
An Arcade1Up cabinet has several customization areas. Each element contributes to the final look and can be modified independently based on your needs and budget.
- Marquee (lit sign): The most visible element, usually backlit
- Side Art (side panels): The two large panels that define the theme
- Control Panel: The surface around buttons and joysticks
- Bezel (screen frame): The screen border with artwork
- Riser: The optional base to reach adult height
- Kickplate: The front panel below the control panel
Standard Arcade1Up Dimensions
Knowing exact dimensions is crucial for ordering custom graphics. Dimensions vary slightly between cabinet generations (Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen 3...). Here are the most common dimensions in inches and centimeters.
- Marquee: 19.5" x 7.5" (49.5 x 19 cm) - may vary by model
- Side Art: 17.5" x 45" (44.5 x 114 cm) per panel
- Control Panel: 20" x 8" (51 x 20 cm) average
- Bezel: Varies by screen size (8", 12", 17")
- Riser: 18" x 22" x 12" (45.7 x 55.9 x 30.5 cm)
Materials and Printing
The choice of printing material is crucial for durability and final appearance. At RetroGraphX, we recommend laminated adhesive vinyl for its UV resistance, scratch resistance and easy application. Ideal thickness is between 3 and 5 mil for a good flexibility/durability balance.
Budget and Planning
The cost of full customization varies by project scope. Plan your budget based on elements you want to modify. A complete transformation (marquee + side art + control panel) typically costs $90-170, less than 10% of the cabinet price.
